3 Internal Process Tips to Help Your Team’s Productivity

Why are operations and process important to any team? Well, think about them as the oil in your team’s engine. Imagine having a really expensive car that looks all shiny and beautiful because you wash it every day. Nice right? Now, imagine you drive it every day but you never check under the hood. You can easily see how that beautiful car could quickly end up malfunctioning after a while.

So, I suggest checking under the hood.

Top 3 process tips to help keep your team’s engine running.

  1. Look for ways to help your team save time. What are your team’s pain points? Pick a daily or monthly task and review the current steps. Are there any repetitive tasks that can be streamlined?

  2. Consider your team’s capacity? We all like to think we can multitask like a robot. Maybe we can, but should we? Part of being efficient is not just helping your team maximize their time but also their productivity. What is taking up their time that you can take off their plate? Remember if it’s coming off their plate it will be on yours. Check your capacity as well.

  3. Automate.  Automate. Automate.  Any aspect of your team’s daily “to-do list” that can be automated, do it.  There are apps and management tools with specific features to help do just that. Automation is designed to help processes and systems run more smoothly so why not incorporate it.  And when your team starts to see things happening without having to ask, that’s the magic.

So, next time you ask yourself, should I check under the hood? The answer is probably yes. If you have questions about the apps and tools we use or need some ideas about how to streamline, let us know!
